Music at St. John's Norway

Music is an essential part of our workship life together and St. John's is noted for its strong musical ministry. Singing is good for stress relief, for relaxation, and the joy of being part of the music. Our music director thinks God smiles on us when we sing! If you are interested in singing with our choir, please check our Get Involved page for details.

In addition to our choral music, our services can include solo intrumentalists, and a grand piano in the Sanctuary is periodically used for soloist accompaniment.

Bells

The St. John's Carillon (technically a chime because a carillon must have at least 23 bells, we have 8) was installed in 1926 after being donated to the church. The bells were cast by Gillette & Johnston, Croydon, England, and the largest is inscribed with:

"TO THE GLORY OF GOD THIS OF EIGHT BELLS IS THE GIFT OF CATHERINE STUART MORRISON 1925"
